Technological Initiative Pilsen

On September 30, 2014, at Regional office of Pilsen region was held a conference about new project “Technology and ICT – Cherchez la Femme!”, which is funded from Norwegian funds. Recipient of grant is Academy of Chamber of Commerce of the Pilsen Region and partners of the project are Chember of Commerce of the Pilsen Region, Techmania Science Center and University of West Bohemia.

The main objective of project is reduction of gender segregation in the education at Pilsen Region and increasing of interest about the study of technical and ICT fields for girls in cooperation with elementary school, secondary school and secondary vocational school, ZČU in Pilsen, Techmania Science Center, significant employers in the region, City of Pilsen and Pilsen Region.

Mgr. Radka Trylčová, director of Academy of Chamber of Commerce of the Pilsen Region, introduced the project at the beginning. Professional coordinator of the project closer introduced the project and described individual activities of the project. These activities are for example excursions to companies, discussion at primary school and grammer school, workshops and other. The target group are girls in 7^th ,8^th and 9^th . class of primary school and girls in 3^rd  and 4^th class of grammer school. Project will be realized till April 30, 2016.

The conference was attended by deputy of General Secretary of association Technological Initiative Pilsen (hereinafter TIP, www.tipilsen.cz). Members of association find the project as beneficial for a support of technical education, which is the one of the basic topic of this association.

On September 30, 2014, from 10:00 am will be held The Opening conference of the projects  “Technology and ICT – Cherchez la femme !” and “Promoting the business skills of elementary school pupils” in the Pilsen Regional Autority – council hall.

The main objective of the projects is to increase interest of girls in studying technical and ICT fields.

The project partners are the Regional Chamber of Pilsen Region, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Techmania Science Center o.p.s.

Meetings of companies and research institutions in the Pilsen region. INNOVA Conference 2014 take place within the theme of the year of Czech-German Chamber of Commerce (ČNOPK) “Research and development – focused on the future.” The event is organized by the regional office in Pilsen IHK Regensburg and ČNOPK in cooperation with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and its new research center NTIS – New Technologies for the Information Society. General Assembly decided about acceptance Kermi between members of the TIP. It happend on March 20, 2014 in meeting of the TIP. Company Kermi s.r.o. belongs between leading Europian manufacturer of the heating technology and shower enclosures. The vast majority of General Assembly voted for the adoption of the company.

On Thursday 3. April 2014 met the representatives of the TIP with representatives of potential members of TIP on the informal event, bowling on business centre Plaza in Pilsen.

Informal meeting of the association TIP attended Mr. Johannes Heidecker, chairman of TIP, Mr.Pavel Duchek, general secretary of TIP, and representatives of significant companies, Mr. Stephan Kronmuller from the Eurosoftware, s.r.o. and Johanes Hafner from the Konplan, s.r.o., also Marek Gorges of the law firm Gorges&Partners.

In addition to sport-cultural activities took place at a meeting discussion about the possibility cooperation between companies within TIP. Subsequently it was offered to representatives of the above companies, the opportunity to participate in the activities of TIP or alternatively to become a member companies. We hope, that such event will continue.

Pilsen region is looking for ways how preserve this region as traditional industrial region, not as region of services. In the industrial field, such as Pilsen region is, the specializing in services is for region´s leaders unreasonable.

Their arguments are supported by a large companies in Pilsen region. This companies repeatedly complain that they have not enough well educated graduates in technical fields.

Since last year, exists the coordinator of technical education directly responsible for the leader of Pilsen region, who communicates with the Czech Chamber of Commerce, municipalities, University of West Bohemia and industrial companies. Since last year, exists the Commission of technical education too.

Other possibility for support of industrial education is here now. Right now is arising foundation to support technical education, who works in promoting the industry, providing scholarships for apprentices and students and contributes to the purchase of modern machinery and equipment.

“Support of technical education is now on the top of Pilsen region´s priorities. This year we give to this field a few millions czech crowns. And this amount is increasing every year” said Jiří Struček, the regional councilor for education.

The Regional administrative council will select members of administrative and supervisory board of foundation on Monday 17 Feb. This foundation will get financial donation from Pilsen region and private companies, who initiated the creation of a foundation. Their representatives will be present from January 2015 also in the supervisory board of foundation.

German and Czech companies iniciated the establishment of the foundation, because they intend to invest in the future of employees and send to school their masters. Pilsen region wants for companies to giving some school technique too, which is the same as in the production. Support technical education will go primary to elementary, but also to secondary schools and to universities. “It depends on the donor, where they want to give money,” explained Jiří Struček. Within the Czech Republic, it is a completely unique project, in other regions rather the particular company supports one specific school.
