Compteq.io

Company visit + regular informal meeting May 11, 2022

Registration Form

Newly refurbished premises, latest labs, work-life balance facilities for employees, public access zone for visitors, and much more. May 11 will bring a long-awaited visit to an interesting technological company in Pilsen.

The Compteq.io s.r.o. company is the successor of KONTRON ECT design s.r.o. Kontron Plzeň operated from 2000 to 2021 as a development center for the parent company Kontron Elektronik GmbH. The spin-off took place in the form of an MBO (Management Buy-Out), thus the company became the property of the current management. The impetus for the MBO was the cost-saving restructuring measures triggered by the chip crisis in 2021. During the restructuring, Kontron Pilsen’s staff was reduced from the former 40+ to the current 30+ employees. Compteq continues to work closely with the former parent company and other members of the Kontron / S&T group both in development and sales representation in the Czech and Slovak markets.

Kontron Plzeň has developed over the years from an originally supportive development center to a stand-alone development entity with a wide range of services from hardware development, software (BIOS, UEFI, FPGA, firmware), mechanical parts design, system integration, verification & validation to purchasing, manufacturing engineering and field application engineering. The main focus has been and continues to be the development of embedded COM Express modules and the development of embedded computer BoxPC and HMI systems, especially for the industrial and medical sectors. In 2021, also thanks to government support, they were able to expand the available technologies with their own state-of-the-art EMC laboratory, machinery for mechanical prototyping (laser cutting, CNC and NC machining, sheet metal bending), and a powerful industrial laser for FAI (First Article Inspection) of complex mechanical parts.

The premises are also a design and marketing masterpiece with an interesting rooftop terrace which might inspire many in a future redesign of their premises.

The company visit will be concluded with our regular informal meeting in the private club Pšenice (Anglické nábřeží) and some delicious sausages, meat, weissbier, whiskey, and rum from the owner’s collection.
