Technological Initiative Pilsen

The meeting took place on Oct. 24, 2012 at 11:30am in Pilsen and was organized by Mr. Robert Ingenbleek (CEO of ZF Engineering Plzeň).

After the initial introduction and a business lunch, Mr. Ingenbleek introduced his company. The meeting then continued with a factory tour, after which Mr. Martin Kovář (CEO of JITONA) introduced himself to the other participants. JITONA is seeking membership in TIP; the general assembly will make a decision regarding its acceptance. The program continued with a brief presentation of JITONA. The penultimate item on the agenda was to inform the participants about the status of individual projects of the association, as well as the project plan for the following year. The General Secretary, Mr. Pavel Duchek, was responsible for this agenda item.

The meeting ended with a discussion about the lack of skilled labor in the mechanical fields. Members and associated partners of TIP decided to launch a project promoting the attractiveness of the mechanical fields in the Pilsen region.

An informal meeting between the General Secretary of Technology Initiative Pilsen, Mr. Pavel Duchek, and the Director of Útvar koordinace evropských projektů města Plzně (hereinafter ÚKEP), Mr. Erich Beneš, took place on Oct. 23, 2012 in Pilsen. Mr. Duchek expressed the interest of some members in participating in the preparation of EHMK through cooperation with appropriate artists, designers and university workplaces which are focused on creative design and art. Some members of TIP offered their manufacturing and development capabilities for the joint creation of the project – a work of art that would present the connection between industrial companies, the artistic community of the university environment, and the city, in an appropriate form.

Mr. Beneš welcomed this initiative and suggested initiating negotiations with Tomáš Froyda, Director of Pilsen 2015, and then suggested involving representatives of TIP in the platform – Knowledge, creativity and industry, and their common future in the Czech Republic. The initial workshop of this platform will be held in early December in Pilsen under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Pilsen and the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic. This event will be organized by ÚKEP. TIP will receive an invitation.

The opening ceremony of the new hall took place on Oct 5, 2012 at 2:00pm in Tachov. Milan Chovanec, Governor of the Pilsen Region, attended the ceremony. Also attending the event from the representatives of TIP was the General Secretary, Mr. Pavel Duchek.

The new hall will provide work for 190 employees. More than 10 million Euro were invested in new buildings and production equipment. The purpose of the hall is to produce seats for the automotive sector using the latest technology. The new production facility has serial assembly lines, including test equipment for the complete installation of suspension seats, and one production line for the complete assembly of static seats.

A meeting between the chairman of TIP, Mr. Johannes Heidecker, and the general secretary, Mr. Pavel Duchek, with representatives from the German-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as Mr. Richard Brunner, head of the office of IHK Regensburg in Cham and Mrs. Karla Zajíčková, head of the regional office in Pilsen, was held on Oct. 2, 2012 in IHK´s office in Pilsen.

Both sides agreed that mutual cooperation could be very beneficial, and joint projects were determined. The first of them will be a collaboration on the project Pilsen 2015, the second project will be a common meeting of German and Czech firms and universities, and the last project will focus on management training in intercultural skills for Czech companies.

The first regular meeting of members, as well as others interested in TIP, took place at 7:30pm on Sept. 27, 2012 at the Stará Sladovna restaurant in Pilsen.

TIPClub will be held the last Thursday of every month. This activity will be an opportunity for informal discussion among participants and for meeting new people.

The general meeting took place at 8:30am on Sept. 10, 2012 in Pilsen. The program of the general meeting was the adoption of new members. The general meeting voted on this matter and decided that ZF Engineering Plzeň and GRAMMER CZ would become members of TIP.

The main goal of the meeting, which took place on Jun. 25, 2012 at the company ZF Engineering Plzeň, was to determine the basic steps of the project „Joint Purchasing“. Energy purchasing was chosen as a pilot project.

The fifth TIP meeting took place at 12:30pm on Jun. 14, 2012 in Stod. The meeting was organized by Mr. Jürgen Heidel (CEO of SWA).

SWA develops and manufactures tools, machines and complete lines for the production of non-metallic interior car equipment and acoustic parts.

All participants in the meeting were informed about the establishment of TIP and received the founding documents. Subsequently, Mr. Heidel presented his company and took participants on a factory tour. Next on the agenda was a discussion about a common topic – resource sharing. It was decided that the project „Joint purchasing“ would be launched. Several ideas for joint purchasing were identified, including electricity, cellular phones, paper, gas, etc.

The association of legal entities Technological Initiative Pilsen was registered with IR 72568135 on Jun. 13, 2012 by the Regional Office of the Pilsen Region. The seat of TIP was determined to be Žižkova Street 52, 301 00 Pilsen.

The statutes were signed by the founding members of the association at the first general meeting of TIP. The meeting took place on May 9, 2012 in Žižkova 52, Pilsen. The founding members were EvoBus Bohemia, MECAS ESI, GOLDRATT CZ and the Blue Projects Agency.
